Road to Cannes

Making it to the Young Lions Final at Cannes was one of the most defining moments of my life.

The pride of representing Vietnam. The thrill of standing among the greatest creative minds (and trying to casually absorb their genius). The winning work that made me think, damn, people are really out here doing this!

That experience pushed me to keep going, to learn more, see more, and figure out just how far creativity could take me. Eventually, that path led me all the way to America.

A week at Cannes changed everything. Let me show you.

Vietnam Young Lions

Getting to Cannes wasn’t easy. I failed the national competition three times before finally making it. And somehow, every loss made me a little better. Turns out, being stubborn has its perks.

In 2019, I joined Vietnam Young Lions, where my Art Director, Vien Tran, and I had just 48 hours to crack a brief: convince people to believe in true love—with PNJ’s wedding rings. We went all in, and we nailed it.

Cannes Lions

Nothing beats going to Cannes in the summer. The sun. The energy. The people. The glamor. It’s overwhelming. It’s chaotic. But it’s worth every second.

Between the competition and the creative buzz, there’s time to explore, soak it all in… and, inevitably, get a sunburn. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.
